The release date for Mircosoft’s new console the Xbox One has been announced as 22 November 2013.

In an announcement made by Yusuf Mehdi, vice president of marketing, strategy and business at Xbox, the Xbox One is due to be released in 13 countries including the UK. Yusuf Mehdi said “We are humbled and gratified by the tremendous interest in Xbox One from game fans everywhere.”

Production of the consoles is said to have started and large amount of pre-orders mean that some retailers have already sold out of units. Alongside the start of production, the system’s CPU has been increased from 1.6GHZ to 1.75GHZ, roughly a 10 percent increase in CPU performance.

Other countries included within the initial release are Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain and USA with more countries being added in 2014.

The system received some criticism upon it’s announcement in May but following changes in policy and a growing roster of exclusive titles such as Titanfall and Dead Rising 3 the Xbox One has sparked huge interest and pre-orders.

Included with each purchase will be the Xbox One, a newly designed controller and a Kinect.
