Wiley’s First Big Top 40 No.1

Tonight, UK rapper Wiley has landed his first Big Top 40 number one, with new single Heatwave, stealing the crown from Calvin Harris and Example.

The grime star is recognised as a pioneer of the UK underground music scene. In 2002 he formed the Roll Deep collective, of which past members include chart sensations Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder. The track features vocals from Ms. D who has also featured on the Chipmunk track Oopsy Daisy.

Elsewhere in this week’s chart, last week’s no.1 We’ll Be Coming Back from Calvin Harris and Example fell to no.2, and Lawson’s new release Taking Over Me finished at no.4.
