Rita Ora Celebrates First Big Top 40 No.1

Tonight, British newcomer Rita Ora has landed her first no.1 on the Vodafone Big Top 40 chart with her new single ‘R.I.P.’ featuring Tinie Tempah.

 The single hit the top spot only hours after it was released, thanks to fans downloading it in their thousands. Originally set for Rhianna’s fifth studio album ‘Loud’, ‘R.I.P’, written by american rapper Drake and produced by electronic music production duo Chase & Status.

Elsewhere in this week’s chart Carly Rae Jepsen finished at no.3 with her single ‘Call Me Maybe’, meanwhile last week’s no.1 ‘Young’ from Tulisa dropped to no.2. Bajan pop group Cover Drive’s new single ‘Sparks’ finished at no.8.
