Newton Faulkner streamed live for 5 weeks

Brit nominated Newton Faulker has announced that he is embarking on an ambitious new project – recording his fourth album, Studio Zoo, in front of 4 cameras and streaming the process live 24/7 for 5 weeks from his home in East London.

Over 1.5 million copies of his last album, Write It On Your Skin, have been sold, and it went straight to UK number one.

This project is just one part of the huge influx of artists interacting differently with fans by becoming more accessible, but he is truly doing this on a massive scale, which marks an exciting shift forward in the music world.

Social media is an integral part of the process, as fans are encouraged to interact and influence decisions made on his new tracks.

Newton said, “I am as excited as I am terrified by the prospect of having a house full of cameras film me while trying to record an album. The entire recording process will be streamed live and nothing has been recorded in advance – apart from some particularly good hand claps recorded in Paris.  The album will be made before your very eyes, no tricks, no producer and no engineer, just me, a guitar and a few surprise guests.”

Studio Zoo will be released on August 26
