New trailer for Woody Allen’s 50th film

Irrational Man/Warner Bros.

Check out this trailer for Woody Allen’s latest feature film Irrational Man, which stars Joaquin Phoenix (Her), Emma Stone  (The Amazing Spider-Man), Parker Posey (Louie) and Jamie Blackley (Snow White and the Huntsman).

The film follows teacher Abe, a tormented philosophy professor who starts working at a small town college and becomes involved with two women – Rita, a lonely fellow professor who wants him to save her from her unhappy marriage and Jill, his best student, who soon becomes his closest friend. Jill, whilst still having a boyfriend, finds herself attracted to Abe’s exotic past and tortured personality – even when he shows signs of mental imbalance. However, when she tries to make their relationship romantic, he rebuffs her.

Then, by pure chance, everything changes when Abe and Jill overhear a stranger’s conversation and become drawn in.

Abe then makes a profound  decision, one that makes him able to embrace life to the fullest again, but  sets off a chain of events that will affect him, Jill and Rita, forever.

Woody Allen is a world famous director of classics such as Annie Hall and Manhattan, and Irrational Man is his milestone fiftieth feature film.

Irrational Man is out in UK cinemas on September 11.
