New Black & White – Plasma Freeze Pokemon Trading Card Set Released On May 8th

With a new 3DS game hitting the global stage in October and a new Mystery Dungeon gracing the 3DS in the coming weeks, it seems Nintendo are keen to push Pokemon forward. The trading card game is still present too, and it seems new sets and decks continue to be concocted to this day.

Case in point, the new Black & White – Team Plasma Freeze set that’s coming this May. Over 110 new cards are promised, each of which will feature art ensconced within a special blue Team Plasma border.

Team Plasma ShieldAs is par for the course, the cards will be collected via booster packs of 10 or preconstructed decks of 60 at a time. Booster packs and decks will ship with codes that can be redeemed at the trading card game’s online site, for those of us who like our card games with a digital flavour.

Alongside two new ACE SPEC cards with powers so mighty only one is permitted per deck, there’ll also be six Pokemon EX cards and a further six Pokemon EX Ultra cards, the latter of which feature full artwork of a somewhat impressive beastie.

Tornadus EX UltraIt’s mindboggling to consider these cards have been around for so long and they’re still making more. Makes us wonder if any of the old shiny ones we’ve got knocking around the place might be super rare out-of-print ones worth a small fortune…
