Music Creator eJay Hoping To Return To Touchscreen Devices

Back in the day, anyone with a penchant for music creation and a home computer could jump on the music creation software known as eJay. Coming in several flavours and genres with various soundclips to drag and drop, it was a popular pastime for bedroom composers and budding tune tinkerers.

For those who miss these golden days, it seems iOS and Android users have plenty to look forward to. eJay Pure is currently seeking crowdsourcing over on Kickstarter to bring techno, hip-hop and dance music to old fans alongside a fresh audience. Additionally, the rock and indie genres are set to be represented in this new software for the first time.

The original creators of eJay, Helmut Schmitz and Bernhard Throll, have teamed up with Wired Productions to bring the new music maker to the masses. It’s set to boast the same drag and drop functionality the series is known for, only this time of course compatible with touchscreen and modern connectivity. The software’s been in the works for nine months, but has turned to Kickstarter to fund the final funds necessary. We’ll be interested to see how the finished product pans out if the goal of £300,000 is reached.

He appreciates any media that doesn’t take itself too seriously. He doodles, does a weird webcomic and self-publishes comedy novels despite popular demand.
