HMV has announced that its flagship store in London’s Oxford Street will be hosting the official UK midnight Wii U launch event on Thursday 29 November.
With reports now coming in from retailers that Wii U stocks are pretty much sold out, the Oxford Street store has managed to get an extra supply to deal with the expected large number of gamers for when the doors open at 11pm on Thursday night, 29 November.
If you’re very eager and start queuing early, Wednesday morning at the latest we reckon, the first 100 customers in the queue will get their dirty and smelly hands on a free copy of New Super Mario Bros U as well as another Wii U game of their choice from a selection that will be offered. The next 100 people in line will be entitled to a £5 gift voucher for redemption on Wii U hardware and software on the night. The first 500 people in the queue will also receive a Wii U goody bag plus there will be opportunities to win Wii U related prizes during the evening.
To keep you occupied and build excitement, Ubisoft and Nintendo will be demonstrating ZombiU, Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U, plus allowing gamers to sample some games. Also attending are a range of Nintendo promotional characters from New Super Mario Bros U and ZombiU games. I don’t know if a zombie can be considered a character but hey-ho.
