007-Quantum-aftershave-review

James Bond 007 Quantum Aftershave – £20

Smell like Bond. Not Bond after 24 hours running, jumping and fighting his way through a third of the Russian army. More like Bond on route to a sophisticated dinner party with only the slight possibility of violence after the main course. It’s unlikely to turn you into the world’s most dangerous man, but it will definitely improve people’s perception of your personal hygiene. Available at Superdrug.

Bosch Tassimo Amia – £39.00

If you buy a £2.50 cup of coffee 5 days a week, you’ll be spending £600 a year on your java. Get your caffeine fix at home with the Bosch Tassimo Amia coffee machine. It’s currently half price and will allow you to have your morning cup just the way you like it and save a few pounds in 2014. Available at Currys.

Couple it with a Bodum Travel Mug and make your choice beverage to go. Kick that paper cup habit and do your bit for the environment. How’s that for moral high-ground. Also available at Currys.

Mr Men & Little Miss Mugs – £5

Do you know a Mr Grumpy, Mr Messy or Mr Perfect? Or how about a Little Miss Sunshine, Little Miss Chatterbox or Little Miss Princess? Perhaps you yourself are a Mr Strong or a Little Miss Giggles?

If that sounds like someone you know then Mr Men and Little Miss character mugs are great fun and a great gift for fans of the classic cartoons and children’s books. A mug for their favourite hot beverage makes for a great stocking filler or a passive aggressive dig at your secret santa. Available at Tesco.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Starting at £40

Whether you’re picking this up for the old or new generation consoles, you’ll have a blast with this game. With the wealth of activities and mischief to made on the high seas, the game feels like spectacular value for money and will keep you very busy over the festive period.

As the last Assassin’s Creed installment of this generation, it could have gotten away with playing it safe and doing more of the same. Thankfully that’s not the case and what we are treated to in Black Flag is a sweet harmony of both style and substance. This tale of a pirate captain is one that the world will come to love and one that we’ll not soon forget. Get plundering! Read our full review to see our full praise for this game. Available at Amazon.

New Super Mario 3D World Desert

Super Mario 3D World- £39.99

Available on Wii and Wii U, this is the latest entry in the series of 3D Mario action games. Like Super Mario 3D Land before it, this game is fun and accessible to fans old and new.

The game supports multiplayer with up to four players – in addition to Mario, Luigi and Toad, you can now play as Princess Peach too! The fun, chaotic multiplayer mode is a new way for players to enjoy 3D Mario games, as the four players help (or hinder!) each other through the game.

This title also includes a new power-up, Cat Mario. This form brings with it new abilities, such as climbing walls and attacking enemies with your claws.

The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds screenshot 2

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds – £34.99

The Zelda series gets its first all-new entry on Nintendo 3DS in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, where the series returns to the world established more than 20 years ago in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past — or worlds, considering that hero Link will be returning to the “dark world” from that original game, as well. Link’s greatest new ability will be the power to transform into a chalk drawing, letting him be attached to walls and move to otherwise inaccessible areas. The top-down perspective is designed for the Nintendo 3DS, making the elevation and depth of the world come alive.

Grand Theft Auto V – £30
A coming of age story about three friends and their quest to establish themselves as men of high standing in their community. Or not. GTA V is one of the best examples of storytelling in games this year. Chaotic, enthralling and incredibly moreish, Rockstar have once again created a world of unparallelled freedom where  you are able to fly, swim and peddle your way across the vast, fictional state of San Andreas. The perfect game to say goodbye to your Xbox 360 or PS3 with before you cast it off on a flaming funeral ship and join the next generation. Buy it and love it. It’s that easy. Available from Amazon.

That about concludes our list of ideas for Christmas 2013. Hopefully your virtual shopping baskets are now brimming with items that will make your loved ones weep tears of gratitude on Christmas morning. If not, you’ve no doubt bought yourself a few extra gifts.
